v0.3.6: Kumiko WIP


I wanted to give a big thanks to the new patreons and ko-fi members lately, you've been a big help so far! Sadly I will have to say this build of Blazing Worldstars will be the last Unity build of the game after Unity's policy change, the team is a bit too hesitant to continue working with the engine, so we will be moving to Godot, which will take some time to do, so if you can, any donation you can make on our Ko-fi or supporting us on Patreon! For a bit, Kumiko has been in development alongside the game, most of her basic assets are done, yet there is still more to work on, here she is in action: 

She will be playable for this build, we hope to have her further along for when we have the Godot build ready and playable! As for the update, there are also updates to the current playable roster of fighters! Follow us on Twitter or join the Discord to keep up to date with our development!

  • Mesmerle Staiguichi:
    • Zaiankens and Zaianken Enhances all have cooldowns and multicasting limits to two projectiles on screen, to prevent Zaianken spam lockdown. This would also lead into character who would get up an get stuck in a non-attacking state only able to block which allowed Mesmersle to lock the opponent into a timeout situation.
    • Extended some of cooldowns for All River Climbs (Except for EX), now River Climbs don’t just end up chaining into follow up River Climbs.
    • Leaping Deer's Heavy Kick's block variant didn't have it's block set, it's now been set so the move is blockable.
    • Given cooldown for Moving Mountain Starting attack, Moving Mountain rekka has better frame window activations for following strikes to help animation feel more consistent and less sluggish/choppy.
    • Cooldown for Crushing Lion Chop extended.
    • Dual Palm Strike added: New normal move that costs 25 meter points to use, powerful attack that can 2-hit from a stagger into wallbounce, but has 25 frames of startup, so it's a risky move out in the open with punishing recovery if blocked.
    • Zaian-Zhunken: From 450 to 420 Damage
    • Douji Zaian-Zhunken: From 500 to 450 Damage
  • Batrice Avegue:
    • Heeve Ho replaced with Boeing Big.
    • Boeing Big comes with Aviator Press (Boeing Big EX).
    • JMK and JHK come with one point of armor.
    • Grizzly Rush (Grizzly Tackle EX) Inputs chanced to 646HP+HK.
    • Logger Bomb: From 250 damage to 200 damage.
    • Atomic Logger: From 350 damage to 300 damage.
    • Avegue Megabomb: From 635 damage to 460 damage.
  • Matthias Buragi:
    • Front Flip Axe Kick is now more consistent with combos and much faster.
    • Buragi Izuna Drop Special (BIDS): 450 to 380 Damage
  • Veil:
    • Some of Veil's attacks can slightly steal meter from the opponent if they hit them, otherwise, blocks give double the amount of meter to the opponent, as his gimmick of risk/reward playstyle. Moves that steal meter: SHP, SHK, JHP, Double Smack, Flyswatter, Footpaw Mallet, On Camera, and Flash Photo.
      • No amount of meter steal from Veil's moves goes over 10 points of meter.
    • Buffs to Veil's horrendous Meter gains, he struggled to gain meter, often relying far too much of Flash Dodge to even get half of bar.
    • Flyswatter and Footpaw Mallet now hit downed opponents.
    • Footpaw Mallet consistently can ground bounce airborne opponents directly to the floor.
    • Stretchy Slap Barrage had an issue on push block force lifting opponents blocking the attack, making the attack unblockable, gave it it's own push force on block, so now opponents can consistently block the attack without being pushed into the air to and forced into an unblockable situation.
    • Walkway Whirlwind: From 545 to 425 Damage
